Shilpa D. Jaswal was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. She graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Arts in 2015 and then proceeded to law school at Bond University in Australia for the Juris Doctor program which she completed in 2017. Upon her return, she completed her NCA examinations and began her articles shortly after in 2017.

Shilpa was called to the bar in 2019 and has maintained a diverse practice in the areas of family law, real estate law, and wills and estate law.

Shilpa has had extensive experience in family law appearing in both the Court of King’s Bench and the Alberta Court of Justice (formerly known as the Provincial Court of Alberta). Shilpa has successfully run applications, hearings and trials for family law matters. 

Prior to opening Jaswal Law, Shilpa practiced at two boutique law firms. She has practiced in Beaumont since 2019 and is excited to continue to serve the community from Jaswal Law located in downtown Beaumont.

Shilpa serves as a director on the board for Beaumont’s Community Circle Thrift Centre. She is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, Canadian Bar Association, and the Edmonton Bar Association.

During her free time, she enjoys watching copious amounts of reality TV and traveling with her husband. She also thoroughly enjoys being a dog mom to Cove Turpin who is the office manager at Jaswal Law.

Shilpa is conversationally fluent in Punjabi and Hindi.
